The Middlesex Fells is just a few miles north of Boston, and I always feel lucky to live just a few minutes away.  The Rock Circuit trail is one of my favorites, nestled in the southeast corner of the reservation, away from the noise of I-93.  It's a narrow trail with ups and downs that are almost like climbing a mountain, though the highest elevation isn't much more than 300 feet.

I liked the idea of making the trail itself part of the series.  It's a well marked trail.  The trail markers are part of the scenery.

Fallen leaves crisp air

Look up look down look
